A Sacred Phase of Time: The Blessed Three Months |

Time is adorned with the colors of divinity... people become more sociable, as if they were the peaceful residents of the world-to-come, and they are able to attain a profound awareness.
The blessed three months are Rajab, Sha’ban, and Ramadan (the seventh, eighth, and ninth months) in the Islamic hijri calendar; these months are distinguished from the rest of the year with the peculiar taste and atmosphere that each possesses.

Every nation has its own calendar through which it calculates time, special events and occasions peculiar to its history and civilization. Hence, nations with different civilizations and religions would hardly adopt the same system of calendar. It was the highly-ranked religious men of each nation who calculated the months and dates of its calendar year.

On Saturday, October
13th, Turkish-American community got together at Grand Plaza Hotel's Sam Houston
Ballroom to celebrate the Eid (Bayram). Around 1000 attended and imam Mustafa
Yigit recited verses from Quran beautifully and delivered his moving sermon both
in English and in Turkish as well.
